Though a Thursday report suggested Chiefs head coach Andy Reid would be interested in reuniting with Nick Foles, K.C. fans may not want to get ahead of themselves. [League sources] have told CSNPhilly.com's Reuben Frank that the Eagles have no plans to trade Foles, unless they're blown away by an offer. The Eagles have made quality deals in the past for their quarterbacks. Three times under Reid they traded a QB -- Kevin Kolb, Donovan McNabb and A.J. Feeley -- and each time they acquired a second-round pick. For Kolb, they also received cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and they also got a fourth-round pick in the McNabb deal. The Eagles now have four quarterbacks on their roster, having signed Dennis Dixon to a two-year deal on Monday. (CSN Philly) Comment
An unfortunate reality may finally be sinking in for the Lakers. "It's not a good feeling at all," Bryant said, the shame of a 125-101 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers hanging over him. "Once things got difficult, we need to step up and meet that challenge. I'm not very happy right now, and hopefully my teammates feel the same way." The problem is, Bryant seemed to know before those words even left his mouth that his teammates' minds weren't in the same head space as his, as he tries desperately to turn this season around. "After we lose by 20 or 30 points, we definitely can't be laughing and joking around with a team that just kicked your [butt], that's for sure," Bryant said. (ESPN Los Angeles) Comment
Kevin Youkilis' trademark honesty appears to be in midseason form. Asked whether it felt strange to be on the other side of baseball's most famous rivalry, Youkilis made it clear on Valentine's Day that Boston still held a special place in his heart. "To negate all the years I played for the Boston Red Sox and all the tradition, you look at all the stuff I have piled up at my house, to say I'd just throw it out the window, that's not true," Youkilis said. "I'll always be a Red Sock." And Youkilis' love for Boston goes beyond the diamond. His wife, Julie, is the sister of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, and that, combined with his ties to two World Series teams, earns him a spot among Boston's sports royalty.
