FRESNO, Calif. (Ticker) -- Fresno State junior forward Jonathan Woods was suspended indefinitely Wednesday for a violation of team rules.
Woods is averaging 12.5 points -- second on the team -- and 5.5 rebounds through Fresno State's first two games. He averaged 9.6 points per game last season, his first with the Bulldogs.
"Jon violated a team policy and must face the consequences," coach Ray Lopes said. "We will re-evaluate his situation next week and at that point will determine when he rejoins the team."
Woods is from Harvey, Illinois, the same town from where former Bulldog Melvin Ely hailed.
