France's Bailly wins biathlon eventPosted: Saturday December 20, 2003 9:18AM; Updated: Saturday December 20, 2003 9:18AM BREZNO-OSRBLIE, Slovakia (AP) -- France's Sandrine Bailly won a World Cup biathlon event Saturday, beating Germans Katja Beer and Martina Glagow. Bailly was first in a 7.5-kilometer sprint in 20 minutes, 9.4 seconds. She missed one target. Beer shot flawlessly and was 31.5 seconds behind. Glagow was 33.5 seconds back and missed no targets. On Thursday, Glagow won the 15K individual race. Glagow leads the World Cup standings with 217 points, followed by Norway's Liv Grete Poiree (205) and Bailly (193). |
