(AP) -- Ante Razov scored with four minutes remaining to give the Chicago Fire a 2-1 win Sunday over the MetroStars, who are winless in five games. The Fire (11-4-6) remained unbeaten in their last seven matches and widened their lead over the second-place MetroStars (8-6-7) in the Eastern Conference. Forward John Wolyniec took a 60-yard pass from defender Craig Ziadie, then hit a soft shot past Fire goalkeeper Zach Thornton for his fourth goal of the season. Chicago tied it in the final minute of the first half on rookie Damani Ralph's 10th goal of the season. MetroStars forward Clint Mathis and Chicago's DaMarcus Beasley each hit the post in the first half. |
