They recalled Johnson, the league's MVP who had 29 homers and 111 RBIs in 142 games while hitting .299 with Sacramento, and Lehr, and selected Blanton.
To make room for Blanton on their 40-man roster, the A's designated minor league catcher Mike Rivera for assignment.
In a tight race with Anaheim for the AL West title, the A's don't have plans to use any of the three in the final two weeks of the season.
"I think they're happy to get called to the big leagues," Oakland manager Ken Macha said of the trio. "They should be proud of the season they had."
Sacramento wrapped up the PCL championship series Friday, completing a three-game sweep against Iowa.
It will be Lehr's third stint with the A's this season. He has a 1-1 record with a 5.59 ERA in 25 appearances and 29 innings with Oakland. At Sacramento, he was 4-2 with a 2.65 ERA in 32 games and 37 1-3 innings, with 13 saves.
Macha said he would put Lehr and Blanton in the bullpen. He said Johnson, 25, a seventh-round pick in the June 2001 draft, had a big future with the A's.
"I think he's an offensive force," Macha said. "He had a great year. He's got a chance to be in the next league next year."
