ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -- Buffalo Bills backup quarterback Travis Brown was scheduled to have an MRI done on his left knee Sunday, a day after he was hurt during a preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Brown, the projected backup to Drew Bledsoe, was carted off the field late in the third quarter after taking a hit in his knee. It was the second major blow to the Bills' quarterback corps in the past week. In Tuesday's practice, first-round draft pick J.P. Losman broke his left leg.

After the hit, Brown stayed down for several minutes before trainers helped him onto a golf cart and took him off the field. Brown believed the injury could be serious.

Head coach Mike Mularkey should have the results of the MRI on Monday after practice, the Bills said.

Buffalo may have to sign another quarterback, depending on the severity of Brown's injury. Bledsoe and undrafted free agent Greg Zolman remain as the only uninjured Bills quarterbacks.

• X-rays taken Saturday night confirmed that strong safety Lawyer Milloy suffered a broken forearm in the match against the Colts. Milloy underwent successful surgery Sunday morning to repair it, the team said.

Bills officials said they did not know when Milloy would be available to play again.
