Round 6
* -- Compensatory pick.
165 -- Denver, from Washington (completion of an August 2003 trade in which the Redskins received DT Lional Dalton from the Broncos. At the time of the trade, it was reported as a conditional seventh-round choice that could be upgraded to a fifth-round selection if Dalton participated in at least 40 percent of defensive snaps for Washington. Apparently, the condition was not met. However, since Washington's seventh-round pick was already dealt to another team (see Round 7, pick 196), there was no Round Seven pick to send to the Broncos. Since it has been reported that the Redskins no longer hold their sixth-round pick, it appears as if a contingency has been agreed to -- before or after the fact -- in which Denver will receive this selection.)
179 -- Philadelphia, from Green Bay (completion of a 2003 draft day trade in which the Packers received a seventh-round choice from the Eagles last year.)
180 -- Washington, from Chicago (on March 29 for Redskins FB Bryan Johnson).
182 -- Green Bay, from Dallas (completion of a February 2003 trade in which the Cowboys acquired WR Terry Glenn from the Packers.)
187 -- Tampa Bay, from Indianapolis (completion of a September 2002 trade in which the Colts received S David Gibson from the Buccaneers.)
188 -- Pittsburgh, from St. Louis (completion of an August 2002 trade in which the Rams obtained WR Troy Edwards from the Steelers.)
191 -- Pittsburgh, from New England (compensation for the Patriots signing restricted free-agent DE Rodney Bailey).
Round 7
* -- Compensatory pick.
196 -- New Orleans, from Washington (completing last August's trade in which the Redskins received DT Martin Chase from the Saints. This pick could have been upgraded to a sixth-round choice had Chase participated in at least 40 percent of defensive snaps for the Redskins, but this condition was not met.)
197 -- Buffalo, from Detroit (completing last August's trade for RB Olandis Gary. Under certain conditions, this could have been upgraded to a fifth-round choice, but those conditions were not met.)
199 -- San Diego, from Atlanta (completing a September 2002 trade in which the Chargers received WR Trevor Gaylor from the Falcons. Had Atlanta won the tiebreaking coin flip against Cleveland, this pick would have been one slot higher.)
200 -- Baltimore, from Jacksonville (completing last August's trade for S Anthony Mitchell. This pick could have been upgraded to a sixth-round selection under certain conditions, but it doesn't appear as if those conditions were met.)
204 -- Cleveland, from Buffalo (completing last August's deal for TE Mark Campbell. Again, there apparently were conditions under which this pick could have been upgraded, but it doesn't appear as if those conditions were met.)
209 -- Miami, from New Orleans (completing last May's trade for LB Derrick Rodgers.)
213 -- Oakland, from Dallas (part of a May 2003 trade in which the Cowboys received DE Kenyon Coleman from the Raiders. Oakland will also receive a sixth-round selection from Dallas in the 2005 NFL Draft.)
219 -- Indianapolis, from St. Louis (completing last August's trade for S Rich Coady. Some Internet sources list the Colts as receiving a fourth-round choice for Coady, but given his relatively modest productivity in 2003, it seems unlikely that conditions were met that would compel the Rams to give up a fourth-round pick.)
2004 Draft Notes

• There is one other trade worth noting. New England may receive a choice from St. Louis for the June 2002 deal sending LB Kole Ayi to the Rams. At this time last year, it appeared as if the Patriots might get a seventh-round selection in the 2004 Draft, but there is no indication of that at this time. Perhaps it will be settled in next year's draft, or perhaps for some reason no draft compensation will be given.

The following transactions should not impact upon the 2004 Draft:

• Kansas City will not receive a seventh-round pick in the 2004 Draft from Green Bay for the April 2003 trade for DB Derek Combs. The Chiefs will get the Packers' seventh-round pick in the 2005 Draft.

• Miami will not receive a seventh-round choice from Cleveland from the 2002 trade that sent RB J.J. Johnson to the Browns, as Johnson failed to make the team.

• Washington will not receive a seventh-round choice from Green Bay from the April 2003 trade that sent G David Brandt to the Packers, as Brandt failed to make the team.

• Atlanta will not receive a sixth-round pick from Seattle from the April 2003 trade that sent T Michael Thompson to the Seahawks, as Thompson was cut during the preseason.

• San Francisco will not receive a seventh-round choice from Denver for the August 2003 trade that sent WR Nate Jackson to the Broncos, as Jackson was waived prior to the start of the season.

• Miami will not receive a pick from Houston for the August 2003 trade that would have sent RB Deon Dyer to the Texans, as Dyer failed his physical.

• Denver will not receive a pick from Seattle for the August 2003 trade that sent P Matt McBriar to the Seahawks, as McBriar failed to make the team.

• Philadelphia will not receive a pick from Pittsburgh for the August 2003 trade that sent WR Freddie Milons to the Steelers, because Milons was on the inactive list for all sixteen regular season games.

• Dallas will not receive a seventh-round pick from Green Bay for the September 2003 trade that sent WR Reggie Swinton to the Packers, because Swinton did not meet the necessary conditions (not on 45-man active roster for three games or 53-man roster for five games).
