PARIS (AP) -- Striker Sergio Koke equalized deep in injury time Sunday as host Marseille labored to a 1-1 draw with lowly Saint-Etienne.

Koke latched onto a curling cross from the right in the fifth minute of injury time, prompting a furious reaction from Saint-Etienne's players.

They surrounded referee Bruno Derrien after Koke's goal, clearly upset at the amount of additional time at the end of the match.

"Of course we're unhappy," striker Frederic Piquionne told French television. "It seemed like 10 minutes of injury time. It's ridiculous."

Pascal Feindouno lobbed goalkeeper Fabien Barthez to give Saint-Etienne the lead in the 16th minute.

Barthez has been in spectacular form for France recently, but it was a rare error of judgment that led to Feindouno's goal. Barthez came to collect a ball, misjudged the bounce, and then watched as Feindouno coolly clipped it over his head.

Marseille remains in fifth place with 17 points after 10 rounds. Saint-Etienne moved out of the relegation zone and into 17th place with eight points.

Three-time defending champion Lyon, which beat Caen 4-0 on Friday, is in first place with 22 points, ahead of Lille on goal difference. Lille topped Bastia 2-1 on Saturday.

Other results Saturday were: Auxerre 3, Lens 0; Ajaccio 2, Strasbourg 2; Bordeaux 2, Istres 2; Metz 1, Monaco 1; Nantes 1, Paris Saint-Germain 0; Nice 1, Toulouse 0; and Sochaux 3, Rennes 0.
