8 -- Times a player has scored 20 or more rushing touchdowns in a season: Terry Allen (21), Terrell Davis (21), Emmitt Smith (21), Joe Morris (21), Priest Holmes (21), John Riggins (24), Smith (25) and Holmes (27).
13 -- The AFL single-season rushing touchdowns record, set by the Bills' Cookie Gilchrist in 1962. It's also the most TDs scored by an AFL player in one season, tied with Chargers WR Lance Alworth (1966).
46 -- Career AFL rushing touchdowns for Abner Haynes. He played for five teams -- Dallas Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets -- from 1960-67, posting career highs in attempts (221), yards (1,049) and touchdowns (13) in 1962 with Dallas.
176 -- Points scored by the Packers' Paul Hornung in 1960, the single-season record. He scored 13 rushing TDs, caught two scoring passes and added 86 points on field goals (15 of 28) and PATs (41 of 41).
223 -- Games played by Brian Mitchell, most ever for a running back. Marcus Allen played in 221, while Earnest Byner and Emmitt Smith appeared in 211. Larry Centers has played in 198.
410 -- The single-season record for most rushing attempts, set by the Falcons' Jamal Anderson in 1998. After injuring a knee in 1999, he had only 356 carries the next three seasons combined before retiring in 2001.
786 -- Lowest rushing total to lead the league, by the Jets' Freeman McNeil in 1982. There were only nine games played that year because of a strike.
826 -- Career receptions for Larry Centers, the most for a running back and seventh on the all-time list ahead of Hall of Famers Steve Largent (819), James Lofton (764) and Ozzie Newsome (662).
1963 -- Year that Jim Brown established the Browns' single-season rushing mark (1,863 yards). At 40 years, it is the oldest single-season team mark. Second is O.J.'s Simpson's 30-year mark for the Bills -- 2,003 in 1973.
1,052 -- Rushing attempts by the Bears' Walter Payton between 1976-79, when he led the league in carries each year. He was the leading rushing in only one of those seasons -- 1977 with 1,852 yards.
1,458 -- The AFL single-season rushing record, set by the Patriots' Jim Nance in 1966. He also has the second-highest season total, 1,216, set in '67.
4,142 -- Career rushing attempts for record-holder Emmitt Smith. He also has the most rushing yards (17,418) and touchdowns (155).
5,101 -- Career AFL rushing yards for Clem Daniels, tops in league annals. Daniels played for Dallas and Oakland from 1960-67 and finished his AFL tenure with 1,134 carries, a 4.5 yards-per-carry average and 30 TDs. Daniels' career ended in 1968 with the 49ers, when he played in nine games with 12 carries and 37 yards.
21,264 -- Yards from scrimmage for Walter Payton, second all-time to Jerry Rice (23,111) and first among running backs. Emmitt Smith (20,537) is third, 727 behind Payton.
