Davidenko offered some resistance in the first set, forcing the tiebreak, but lost it 7-3 before being overwhelmed by Mantilla in the second.

Mantilla will now meet either Spaniard Alex Calatrava or Argentine Juan Monaco in the second round.

France's Arnaud Di Pasquale was another first round winner on Monday, beating Daniel Elsner after the German withdrew with the effects of influenza while trailing 4-0 in the first set.

The Netherlands' Raemon Sluiter will face eighth seed David Sanchez of Spain later.
