Each Friday, SI.com's Stewart Mandel forecasts the weekend's biggest games.
Oct. 23

Sat., 3:30 p.m. ET | ABC
No. 13 Michigan (6-1) at No. 12 Purdue (5-1)
It will be a classic, late-October Big Ten showdown, played under a gray sky with a chill in the air. Only the ball will be flying through said air with abandon, headed in the direction of Braylon Edwards and Taylor Stubblefield.
Purdue 37, Michigan 34

Sat., 3:30 p.m. ET | CBS
Alabama (5-2) at No. 11 Tennessee (5-1)
"The Vols take the field and ... oh my, it appears Coach Fulmer has been served with a subpoena!" "That's right, Bob, but the Tennessee coach doesn't seem fazed ... he's filing a countersuit!" "What a ballgame, folks!"
Tennessee 21, Alabama 17

Sat., 7:45 p.m. ET | ESPN
No. 4 Miami (5-0) at N.C. State (4-2)
On the road facing a quality defense, 'Canes QB Brock Berlin will revert to his old, mistake-prone self. But the Wolfpack's offense is so bad and the Miami defense is so ticked off, he won't even get to lead a second-half comeback.
Miami 14, N.C. State 10

Sat., 3:30 p.m. ET | ABC
UCLA (4-2) at No. 21 Arizona State (5-1)
Two weeks ago, Pac-10 frontrunners USC and Cal staged a classic, down-to-the wire showdown at the Coliseum. They then went out the next week and beat these two by a combined score of 90-35. Two-team conference, anyone?
UCLA 35, Arizona State 31

Sat., 3:30 p.m. ET | ABC
No. 22 Oklahoma State (5-1) at Missouri (4-2)
The Big 12 North has scored two wins over the South this season, and they were both against Baylor. But the Tigers haven't lost at home in two years -- and the Cowboys haven't beaten a good team on the road since, oh, 1977.
Missouri 27, Oklahoma State 22

Sat., 2:30 p.m. ET | NBC
Boston College (4-2) at No. 24 Notre Dame (5-2)
There are people on the East Coast who believe this is a major rivalry. I'm sure the Irish agree -- when they're not playing USC or Michigan. Ah, well, let the Eagles have their fun. What else do they have to look forward to, Rutgers?
Notre Dame 24, Boston College 17

Sat., 10:15 p.m. ET | ESPN2
Fresno State (3-2) at No. 19 Boise State (6-0)
If all had gone according to plan, GameDay would be broadcasting from Boise this week. Alas, it turns out the Bulldogs weren't darlings as much as Washington and Kansas State weren't that good. The Broncos, on the other hand, are.
Boise State 42, Fresno State 38

Sat., 7 p.m. ET | TBS
This week's upset special:
No. 8 Texas (5-1) at Texas Tech (4-2)
Texas' Vince Young, the top quarterback recruit in the country three years ago, has thrown for 758 yards in six games. Tech's Sonny Cumbie, a former honorable mention all-South Plains selection, leads the country with 2,521.
Texas Tech 44, Texas 41
Last week: 4-4. Overall: 37-19. Upset specials: 5-4.
