COMERICA PARK
Detroit
Opened: 2000
Capacity: 40,950
Average Ticket Price: $18.48
Average Cost of Concessions and Souvenirs: $84.01

Pluses:
There are more than 30,000 parking spaces within 15 minutes of the park -- but there's a catch ...

Minuses:
The catch: Only 2,041 of those spots are on site, which means you're on your own to find a safe and reasonable lot (prices range from $5-$25); there are few public transportation options that take fans directly to the park.
Comerica Park in Detroit has all the features of a top-notch ballpark -- even a Ferris wheel -- but a winning team.

Surprisingly few bathrooms (16 women's, 15 men's, four family) for a new stadium, but there are plenty of places (64) to buy food or souvenirs; 360 wheelchair-accessible seats -- again, a relatively small total for a new stadium; perhaps the only major league park with in-house carnival rides.
Comerica is the epitome of the new generation of ballparks: Where else can you get lamb or chicken gyros and then hop on a Ferris wheel? The park offers great views of the newly developed part of Detroit's skyline, and features one of the most impressive (and often distracting) scoreboards in the majors. Tigers' fans know their history ... perhaps because anything worth remembering happened at least 20 years ago. -- Cory McCartney
The best bet after the game is Hockeytown Café, the mecca of Red Wings worship. The drawback? It's across from Comerica and always packed, so you might be better off getting in your car and heading out of the city. The neighborhood is an eyesore outside of the entertainment district, which means parking close to the stadium (even for $15) isn't a bad bet. -- Cory McCartney
2005 Record: 62-67 (all statistics through Aug. 29)
Players worth the price of admission: Ivan Rodriguez (.293 average, 12 HRs, 46 RBIs), Magglio Ordonez (.319, 7 HRs, 39 RBIs), Dmitri Young (.273, 21 HRs, 69 RBIs) Craig Monroe (.281, 15 HRs, 80 RBIs).
As much amusement park as baseball stadium, Comerica is no Tiger Stadium, which welcomed the knowledgeable fan and rewarded him or her with a venue that was unique to Detroit. The new place is, well, new. Better? It's more comfortable and has plenty more for families, which is a far sight better than many other parts of this city have to offer.
