Fantasy Player Projections: Week 2
San Diego
Chargers at Broncos
4:15 (CBS), Invesco Field
Prediction: Chargers 30, Broncos 16
San Diego Chargers
QB Drew Brees Should benefit by playing a weak Broncos D and having Antonio Gates back. 275 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INT
RB LaDainian Tomlinson Had 113 yards and two TDs vs. Denver in Week 13 last season. 120 yards, 1 TD
WR Keenan McCardell One of the league's most underrated players. 6 rec, 85 yards, 1 TD
WR Eric Parker With McCardell's rebirth and Gates back in the mix, teams may ignore Parker. 4 rec, 55 yards
TE Antonio Gates Should be charged up for his season debut. 5 rec, 80 yards, 1 TD
K Nate Kaeding Didn't show any affects of late-season slump. 3 FGs, 3 PATs
D Unit shouldn't have much trouble containing Denver's shaky running and passing attack.
Denver Broncos
QB Jake Plummer Threw four picks vs. S.D. in Week 13 last season. Could be more of the same this week. 210 yards, 1 TD, 3 INTs
RB Tatum Bell Couldn't beat out Mike Anderson for the starting job and couldn't do anyting against Miami last week. Can't see him doing much this week. 40 yards
RB Mike Anderson Says he'll play despite having bruised ribs. Not the best injury for a RB to have, so you might want to sit him. 25 yards
WR Rod Smith Always puts up decent numbers. 6 rec, 80 yards, 1 TD
WR Ashley Lelie Could benefit if the Chargers get a big lead and Denver is forced to air it out. 3 rec, 40 yards
TE Jeb Putzier Broncos matched Jets' offseason offer sheet so they intend to use Putzier. 5 rec, 55 yards
K Jason Elam Always kicks well at home. 3 FGs, 1 PAT
D They couldn't stop Gus Frerotte and Miami. What more needs to be said?
