The quarterback class of 2007 is deeper than that of '06, and with further evaluation Clausen or one of his classmates might be considered the country's top signal-caller. But at the moment, here's how the nation's best quarterbacks break down, according to Jamie Newberg of Scout.com.

1. Mitch Mustain 6'3", 200 lbs., senior, Springdale (Ark.) High
Committed to Arkansas
Great leader who can beat you with his arm and his legs. Makes good decisions. Can throw with zip or touch and delivers great deep ball.

2. Matthew Stafford 6' 2 1/2", 212, senior, Dallas Highland Park
Committed to Georgia
Has football smarts and terrific arm. Is adept at reading defenses and is poised in the pocket -- can evade initial rush and make play downfield.

3. Jimmy Clausen 6'3", 200, junior, Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian
Undecided
Much further along at this stage than his brothers were. Has dynamite arm, great football IQ and the swagger you want in a quarterback.

4. Will Korn 6'2", 200, junior, Duncan (S.C.) Byrnes
Committed to Clemson
Cerebral type of quarterback every coach wants. Is allowed to call audibles at line, a rare responsibility at high school level.

5. Tim Tebow 6'3", 225, senior, St. Augustine (Fla.) Nease
Undecided
Great athlete with linebacker's mentality. Southpaw has good physical tools and is threat with his legs. Also a terrific baseball player.

6. Pat Devlin 6'4", 200, senior, Downington (Pa.) West
Committed to Miami
Real leader with good size and mechanics. Surprisingly mobile but not afraid to stand in pocket and take hit. Well-coached with good command of game.

7. Pat Bostick 6'31Ú2 ", 220, junior, Lancaster (Pa.) Manheim Township
Undecided
Extremely polished for a junior. Has outstanding arm and knows when to feather ball and when to fire it. His accuracy is also a plus.

8. Ryan Mallett 6'6", 240, junior, Texarkana (Texas) Texas High

Has superior size and one of strongest arms around. Guns everything and needs to work on touch passes. Great competitor and very smart.

9. Mike Paulus 6'4", 220, junior, Syracuse (N.Y.) Christian Brothers Academy
Undecided
Brother of Duke point guard Greg Paulus, 2004 Gatorade National Player of the Year in football. May have stronger arm than Greg (who was also a QB). Needs to learn to attack defenses.

10. Isiah Williams 6'2", 220, senior, Chicago Vocational
Committed to Illinois
Has more physical tools and upside than any other senior quarterback but is raw. Could develop into college star if he works hard and gets quality coaching.
