2. ColoradoBoulder is a prime backdrop for any collegiate experiencePosted: Thursday October 27, 2005 5:03PM; Updated: Thursday October 27, 2005 5:03PM
ONLY AT COLORADO: As many as 100 casual -- and often costumed --cyclists meet for Thursday Evening Cruiser Rides, a lazy jaunt through town that culminates at a bar on the main drag, Pearl Street. For those who pedal up a thirst en route, "a provisioning stop for some riders is usually made at one or another liquor store." DOSE OF CULTURE: The Fox Theater is located on "the Hill" (that is the college part of town), and it features awesome music all the time. MUST EAT: La Iguana, which is on the Hill, is the best place to sit outside and have a margarita when it's nice. BARS: On Thursday everyone goes down to the bars on Pearl. The Pub and the Sundown Saloon are total dives with plenty of pool. DOSE OF CULTURE: When the weather is nice, there are farmers and street markets every Saturday. | |||||||
