ONLY AT TEXAS: Rather than spend spring break grinding it out at Seņor Frogs, head over to the Live Music Capital of the World (and that's including Athens, Ga.) to catch the South by Southwest Music Festival (March 15-19). Last year the festival featured more than 1,300 acts, from Franz Ferdinand to Vanilla Ice.

Also, the longest-running concert music program on American television, Austin City Limits, is videotaped on the Texas campus.

AFTER 2 A.M.: Cheap eats and drinks at Taco Cabana, but Trudy's, open 24 hours, mixes the best margaritas north of the border. If the sun's rising, it's time for some Migas (think spicy, Mexican scrambled eggs).

FYI: "Keep Austin Weird" has become a local motto in recent years due to Austinites' ability to never get old and boring.

CELEBRITY ROW: Includes Lance Armstrong, Andy Roddick, Willie Nelson, Sandra Bullock and Matthew McConaughey.

MUST-EAT: Texas is known for their steers and ... tiny Hut's hamburgers grills up the best and biggest burger in town.

JENNIFER ANISTON HANGS AT...: A long shot these days, but the Flingers' scenes in Office Space were filmed at Chili's off I-35.

RULE #34: Tix for OU are hard to come by, but younger Cotton Bowl ushers are prone to bribes.

MUSIC MUST-STOP: Parish for indie/alt rock. Standard rock like Foo Fighters at Stubbs BBQ. Punk/emo rock at Emos. Blues all night at Antone's.

GETTING AROUND: Parking is a nightmare on campus, so park off-campus and take the packed shuttle around. Parking in East Austin is shady at night.

HEX THE AGGIES: Mack Brown puts a spell on A&M at the pep rally the night before the game.

PREGAME: Head to tailgates in the government parking lots around campus or to Scholz's beer garden for Earl Campbell's smoked sausage.

POSTGAME: It's on to Sixth Street or West Campus for a looooong night of celebration.

PACK YOUR: Vince Young jersey and case of Shiner Bock and you'll make friends quick.
