After flirting with No. 1 for six weeks, Penn State finally passed Notre Dame for the top spot in this week's All-Sports Rankings. The Nittany Lions boast three sports in the top 10: football (No. 5), women's soccer (No. 1) and women's volleyball (No. 2). They also have the eighth-ranked field hockey and ninth-ranked men's soccer teams.

Another school that's on a roll is Ohio State, which makes its first appearance in the top 10. This may be short lived, however, as the ninth-ranked football team faces its arch rival, No. 17 Michigan in one of the weekend's biggest games. If the Buckeyes can pull out a victory, they'll likely move up in next week's rankings. If they lose, they'll be gone. By Saturday afternoon, we'll have all the answers. For now, here are this week's rankings:
1. Penn State (115.5 points) - Freshman outside hitter Nicole Fawcett was named the Big Ten Player of the Week for the second time this season as she led the No. 2 women's volleyball to the conference title for the third consecutive year with sweeps over No. 14 Purdue and Illinois last weekend. It was the second time this season Fawcett has been honored. The Nittany Lions host No. 19 Minnesota and Iowa this weekend.
2. Notre Dame (112) -- The No. 5 Fighting Irish women's soccer team won its 11th straight game with a 3-0 victory over Michigan State in NCAA Tournament second-round action last Saturday and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the 10th time in the past 12 years. The team has outscored its opponents 55-1 during the current winning streak and an incredible 104-10 overall this season. The Irish are led by Kerri Hanks and Katie Thorlakson, who each have 67 points on the season and are only the second set of teammates in the 24-year history of Division I women's soccer to reach 67 points in the same season.
3. UCLA (89) - The fourth-ranked women's soccer team advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championship by defeating Mississippi Valley State 9-0 in the first round and Colorado,3-0 in the second round. Seven different players scored in the Mississippi Valley match, while the Bruins broke the school record for most goals scored against a Division I opponent .UCLA will face off against Marquette in the Round of 16.
4. Stanford (83) - The fourth-ranked men's water polo team defeated No. 14 UC-Santa Barbara last Saturday to improve their record to 16-5. The victory helped the Cardinal snap a two-match losing streak. Peter Varellas leads the team with 49 points, followed by Thomas Hopkins (42) and William Hindle-Katel (31). Stanford closes out its season on Saturday when it hosts No. 2 Cal in the annual "Big Splash."
5. Duke (81) -- In one of the best men's soccer matches so far this season, No. 9 Duke defeated No. 4 North Carolina in the sixth round of a shootout after the game ended in a 0-0 tie to win the ACC Championship. Sophomore goalkeeper Justin Papadakis made two key saves in the shootout and freshman Mike Grella netted the game-winner. Senior Blake Camp was named the Tournament MVP after scoring a pair of goals in Duke's 4-2 semifinal win over Maryland, along with the penalty kick which sent the shootout to extra frames. Duke is now 12-4-3 on the season entering the NCAA tournament.
