With South Florida's football team two wins from a Big East championship, athletic director Doug Woolard said he's committed to offering coach Jim Leavitt a new contract as early as next month to keep him with the program he has built over the past decade.

TCU is expected to accept a bowl invitation from the EV1.net Houston Bowl today, according to school and bowl sources. With a BCS bid unlikely this late in the regular season, TCU officials have decided to play in the Houston Bowl and receive a payout of $1.2 million.
