Maybe you've seen the Natalie Gulbis calendar, with images of her lying on a beach wearing nothing but a bikini, posing in a manner befitting an SI swimsuit model. Or maybe you saw her photo spread in the lad magazine FHM -- after all, it's not every day you see the bare midriff of a pro golfer while in swing repose. Or maybe you saw Natalie pop up in Tiger Woods' 2004 PGA Tour video game, the first time an LPGA player received that high mark of gaming distinction.

Or maybe you're checking out The Natalie Gulbis Show, a reality TV series on The Golf Channel that showcases Natalie's life outside the ropes. On this week's episode, she must deal with a wild crew during her 2006 calendar shoot, "including a bit with a flat iron that nearly singes her hair," according to the show's promo. Ah, those irons -- always a source of consternation for golfers.

Perhaps you've even seen Gulbis in an LPGA Tour event. After all, she was pretty good this season -- she finished sixth on the money list with $1 million, posting top 10s in 12 of her 27 starts. She also helped the U.S. beat Europe in the Solheim Cup, winning three of her four matches, including a singles victory on the final day.

But the one place you haven't seen Gulbis is the winner's circle. In 106 career starts as an LPGA pro, she has yet to win a tournament. Her best results came this year, in which she tied for third at both the Michelob Ultra Open and the State Farm Classic. And her biggest career payday came at the U.S. Open, when she finished T-4 and won $272,723.

Encouraging signs, all of them. But she'll still enter the 2006 LPGA Tour with the O-fer hanging around her neck. While the "golf's Anna Kournikova" descriptions all but disappeared this season, Gulbis must win to completely dispel those comparisons and to show she's not just someone with a pretty face, a killer bod and an inconsistent swing.

Still, she isn't putting pressure on herself. After all, she's just 22. No time to panic ... yet.

"I just want to keep putting myself in a position to win," Gulbis said during a phone call from last week's season-ending ADT Championship, in which she finished T-9. "I've been in the hunt now. And the more I put myself in those positions, I know I'm going to win a lot."
