TEN THINGS I THINK I THINK

1. I think I'm entering the world of blogdom this week. I'm going to blog my way through NFL camps on SI.com, with an entry (or two, hopefully) a day describing my travels around the pro football world. I'll even make my photography debut with my new digital camera. I'll try to take you with me through camps, training tables, sidelines ... and, most of all, airports and interstate highways. Never been to Mankato? You'll get there now. Should be interesting. Or tremendously boring. Not sure which.

2. I think if I were Terrell Owens, and the Eagles were going to be in camp for 13 days before returning to the privacy of their home facility, I'd take the fine and skip the first 13 days. Why subject myself to the taunts and the booing of the Phillly leatherlungs? Back at their home complex, he'd be able to work back into the good graces of his team without 6,000 people a day jeering him.

3. I think, still, that the Dolphins brought Ricky Williams back to try to trade him --- either in October or next offseason.

4. I think Ty Law should wait till the first really good corner goes down with an injury this summer, either in a game or practice, before signing a free-agent contract. Only when a team is forced to spend money will Law get close to his value.

5. I think if I were a fantasy-footballer this year with the first pick in a 10-team draft, I'd take LaDainian Tomlinson in the first round (first overall), Kerry Collins in the second (20th overall), and Travis Henry in the third (21st overall), That's a winning team right there, folks.

6. I think the Cowboys are getting ready to run Julius Jones 335 times.

7. I think I'd like to be in Tampa Oct. 16. Game five on the Miami schedule. Ricky Williams' debut, if he stays clean. Could be a bit of a circus that day, but a fun one.

8. I think I'm dying to see how the Nicky (Saban) and Ricky (Williams) show works out. Ricky's going to be on his best behavior. I think there will be no incidents and Williams will work hard to be a good player again.

9. I think the reason I can't get all excited about Lance Armstrong -- and this is not to demean his accomplishments -- is that everything he does is due in large measure to a great team and yet all we hear about is Lance Armstrong. Strikes me that bike racing is a team sport, with all the help the leaders of each team get. And yet individuals get the glory.

10. I think these are my non-football thoughts of the week:

a. Cleveland center fielder Grady Sizemore's going to be a really good player for a long time.

b. Mariano Rivera has to be the greatest relief pitcher of all time.

c. I love the Curt Schilling experiment.

d. Coffeenerdness: I've figured a way to cut the calories of a 260-calorie grande hazelnut latte (and don't tell me to go skim. I can't do it): Add a third shot of espresso. Brilliant. Cuts out 30 calories, adds to the coffeeness.

e. Anyone have any idea how to deal with a bad lower back. Got it the other day from lifting a 250-pound TV. No night position is comfortable. Not exactly the best way to start a 17-day training camp trip.

f. Been great working with you, Mark Godich. I'm amazed you still like football after editing my stuff, and I'm amazed you still like golf after playing a round with me a couple of weeks ago. I knew we should have drank our way through the front nine.

g. Congrats to former editor of this column Stef Kaufman and husband Dan on the June birth of son Drew. The kid will be all right. Born on my birthday.

h. And while we're passing out Internet cigars, light one up for fellow Rotisserie player and good friend Darryn Solotoff, who completed the Ford Ironman Competition in Lake Placid, N.Y., on Sunday (2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride, 26.22-mile run) in 14 hours, 30 minutes. Substitute "days" for "hours," Darryn, and I'd have been right there with you. Incredible feat.

i. I'm glad hockey's back. Not sure a lot of people share my sentiment.

j. Finally, thanks to Rich Fitter, my trainer at Platinum Fitness in Verona, N.J. Training me is like scaling Everest in bare feet, but Rich stuck with it.
