Anthony returns to practice for U.S.Posted: Thursday August 10, 2006 2:44PM; Updated: Thursday August 10, 2006 2:44PM HONG KONG (AP) -- Two days after exiting an exhibition game in China late in the second quarter with what was described as a hyperextended knee injury, Carmelo Anthony took part in today's two-hour practice in Hong Kong. That's where the U.S. has temporarily moved its base for training ahead of this month's world championships. Anthony, the U.S. team's leading scorer, slipped while chasing a ball to the sideline and didn't play in the second half of his team's 90-to-86 win over Brazil. The U.S. team will train in Hong Kong again tomorrow, then travel to Seoul for a five-team World Basketball Challenge. The team will arrive in Sapporo, Japan, on August 17th and play its five preliminary-round games of the FIBA World Championship from August 19th to the 24th. Copyright 2006 Associated Press.
