The Huskies have acquired two starting-quality guards from their home state, Craig Austrie and Doug Wiggins, in the past two recruiting classes. Wiggins was the state's best guard prospect in years and UConn -- in a controversial move -- wooed him away from St. John's late in the game. Austrie was a pleasant surprise who came up big for the Huskies while Marcus Williams was suspended.

Outside Player: St. John's

The Red Storm would be No. 1 in the Constitution State had they not lost Wiggins. They've had success luring prep school prospects such as Qa'rraan Calhoun, Rob Thomas and Dele Coker to Queens.
