More State Champs
Who were the State Champs elsewhere in the U.S.? Pick another state from the menu:
Jason Bohannon is the only elite high school player the state has produced in the past four classes, and the Badgers won this title by signing him. (Avery Patterson and Marvett McDonald, both quality college guards, were juco signings who grew up outside the state). Northern Iowa, which has had success signing under-recruited three-star prospects (Brent Barz and Jordan Eglseder), finishes second.
Outside Player: Albany
Albany -- the powerhouse of the America East -- has two Iowans on its roster: Wilson, a sweet-shooting 6-foot-8 sophomore forward, and Brian Lillis, a 6-5 sophomore forward.
Dragging In-State: Iowa
Iowa has been looking elsewhere of late, signing players like Tyler Smith of Hargrave Military Academy (Va.) and Tony Freeman from Chicago ... but other than Bohannon, were there really any other Big Ten-caliber players for the Hawkeyes to chase?
