More State Champs
Who were the State Champs elsewhere in the U.S.? Pick another state from the menu:

In a weak race, it's Wake Forest, which signed three-star shooting guard Harvey Hale out of Albuquerque in its Class of 2005. Hale averaged 5.6 points as a freshman, which makes him the Deacons' leading returning scorer in 2006-07. With the additions of point guard Ish Smith and shooting guard Anthony Gurley, it's doubtful that Hale will be Wake's featured scorer, but he will play major minutes. And for the New Mexico crop, that's good enough to be considered the No. 1 prospect of the past four years. .

Outside Player: USC

USC landed three-star forward Kasey Cunningham in its Class of 2006, but Tim Floyd had a connection that had nothing to do with New Mexico: He coached Cunningham's father at UTEP.

Dragging In-State: New Mexico State

New Mexico State doesn't have any underclassmen from within its borders, but Reggie Theus is banking on big, out-of-state transfers -- specifically Fred Peete and Martin Iti -- to help turn around the program.
