Who were the State Champs elsewhere in the U.S.? Pick another state from the menu:
The Deacs got a commitment from Wyoming's only top-100 prospect during this period, four-star small forward James Johnson. The son of a former World Martial Arts champion, the 6-foot-8 Johnson is also a kickboxer. As of this summer, he had participated in 10 contact fights -- and won them all. He'll have little trouble adjusting to the physical inside play in the ACC.
Outside Player: Hawaii
Hawaii signed Eastern Wyoming (juco) guard Matt Lojeski in its class of 2005, and he blossomed into a 13.6 points-per-game scorer as a junior. Lojeski scored 20 points in the Warriors' season-opening upset of Michigan State last season.
Dragging In-State: Wyoming
Wyoming played its entire 2005-06 season without a homegrown player on its roster, but did sign the best state prospect from 2006, three-star shooting guard Eric Platt.
