You have stated many acts that I would institute right away. But my first act as CFB Commissioner is to get rid of the "Celebration Rule." This is a game that is suppose to be fun. Let the "kids" play! No more 15-yard penalty for celebrating. -- Paul, Morro Bay, Calif.
Name one national champion and call them the NCAA National Champions. Why is this one of the only college sports that allow other entities to proclaim a champ. Do you see and AP champ for NBA or the NFL? Or for any other college sport for that matter? Screw tradition. Why does rationality have to be sacrificed because "That's how it was always done." -- Dustin, Lake Charles, La.
Have a standard for conference championship games to make it a level playing field. All BCS conferences need a championship game or none of them do. It's unfair for the Big 12, SEC and ACC to have the extra game when the Big 10 and Pac 10 do not. -- Joe, Omaha, Neb.
I would allow students who have signed a letter of intent in February to go to another school without penalty if the HC, DC or OC leaves for another school after signing day but before the beginning of the season. -- John Breen, Charlottesville, Va.
If I were the CFB Commissioner, I would change the overtime format to be a seven-minute period. It it were still tied after that, the teams would go to a system similar to what they do today, but they would have to start at midfield or their opponents 40. Its a shame that two teams play hard and even for 60 minutes only to have the game decided by which team is best at getting five yards and a field goal. -- Jim Buskirk, Huntington, W. Va.
I would require each team to play at least two non-conference I-A teams who had winning records three of the previous five years. -- James Black, Leonardtown, Md.
Students see games for free. It seems wrong that tuition paying students can't even cheer their team on in person, or that there are limited ticket allotments for students just because they don't have deep alumni pockets. -- Thad Dixon, Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Require every team to be in a conference ... that means YOU, Notre Dame! -- Evan Hood, Columbus, Ohio
If I were Commissioner of college football I would do like the NFL and add a preseason game or two in their case they play four for each team just to make the football season a start a little earlier for those diehard college football fans who can't wait for the season to start. Maybe bring in some D2 or D3 schools to showcase their talent level win, lose,or draw. -- Nick G., Stilwell, Okla.
One area you missed, would you pay college players a stipend? I say a college athlete should receive a fair cut of revenue from jersey and other sales directly linked to that player after he graduates. What an idea, it would reward players with some starting out money after school, and these players deserve something for making a "Texas No. 10" or "Virginia Tech No. 5" jersey worth something. If a player doesn't graduate within four years of their last season, the money is donated to the university's general scholarship fund. -- Adrian, Austin, Texas
