It's unlikely Bill Parcells would bench Drew Bledsoe so soon, but if the struggles continue in Week 2 against Washington, don't rule it out. Plaxico Burress' strained relationship with Tom Coughlin got a little worse last week when the receiver was fined, apparently for skipping out on the Giants to attend a doctor's appointment with his wife. A report said Burress had been fined $8,000 when he took his wife, Tiffany, to have an ultrasound performed. Reggie Bush was wearing his signature gold adidas shoes for all the world to see Sunday, but he won't be fined this time. The apparel company agreed to a deal with the NFL last week to allow players to wear adidas shoes and gloves this year. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he didn't know if Mike Vanderjagt, who signed a $2.5 million signing bonus, would be ready for next week's home game against Washington. Kansas City expects ironman quarterback Trent Green to return, maybe after the bye week Oct. 1. Reality is, the Chiefs have very little experienced depth behind him. The Colts have an interest in veteran free-agent quarterback Drew Henson, according to ESPN.com. The team reportedly will meet with Henson sometime this week If David Carr struggles early, Texans coach Gary Kubiak could turn to backup quarterback Sage Rosenfels. Rosenfels outperformed Carr in training camp and in the preseason. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
