Instead of hopping on private jets and wallowing over the Atlantic, the American team stayed and helped their counterparts celebrate, singing and dancing late into the night, according to Tiger Woods.

The Americans subconsciously may harbor some animus toward the PGA of America, which governs the Ryder Cup when it's played in the States. The organization determines the Ryder Cup qualifying point system (which needs another revision by the way) and also picks the captain every two years.

An armada of PGA of America officials accompanied the American team to the K Club last week. They were decked out in the same fancy and free duds the players got to wear, and had access to their quarters and in some cases, their team room, where they no doubt reveled in slapping backs and hobnobbing with the stars of their game. For some players, it may have been somewhat off-putting.

He will not be making the trip back to England this week for the WGC-American Express Championship.
