Next season, Andrews will tackle his biggest challenge on the field when he takes over the tailback spot from graduating senior Chris Barclay, who ran for 1,127 yards and 10 touchdowns on his way to being named the ACC Player of the Year. It's an opportunity that Andrews welcomes. "I've been waiting patiently," he admits. "That's the worst part, just waiting. But I know I can perform."

Andrews proved he is up to the challenge even though he's seen only limited action. After rushing for a modest 264 yards as a freshman, Andrews came on strong in 2005 with 621 yards, including a 254-yard day against Vanderbilt in the season-opener.

Combine those performances with the 6,400 yards and 67 TDs that Andrews accumulated at Greater Atlanta Christian High School and it's no wonder that Grobe is confident that the Deacons' running game won't miss a step next season.

"Micah was our backup tailback," Grobe says. "But when you back up the ACC Player of the Year, it's a tough spot. Micah is such a good kid he handled it in a great way. We're counting on really good things from him next season."

Andrews is anxious to get on the field and imitate his favorite NFL player, Priest Holmes, whose explosiveness and gluttony for punishment are traits that Andrews admires. Until then, he'll be forced to work on a totally different kind of interpretation: Martin Luther King giving one of the most important speeches of the last century.

"I've been practicing hard because I want to do it right," Andrews says of the speech. "I only hope it can be half as powerful as Dr. King."
