USC quarterback Mark Sanchez said Monday that he had been reinstated by the university and was pleased and relieved to rejoin teammates for workouts as they prepared for the upcoming season. Coach Pete Carroll has said Sanchez, 19, could face team-related discipline for underage drinking and using a fake ID on the night he was arrested.

UConn guard A.J. Price has been cleared medically to play basketball again. After the Price family received appropriate medical clearance from Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, where A.J. has been treated for arteriovenous malformation, his parents signed and returned a waiver to UConn clearing the 6-foot-2, 190-pound guard from Long Island to play this season.

Harvard Stadium is getting a makeover. But before the purists panic, this doesn't mean the hallowed structure that's been around since 1903 will change that much -- the Boston Landmarks Commission made sure of that. The stadium will get a new playing surface, have lights installed for the first time, and get a bubble to cover the field in winter. The bubble will be installed after football season to provide an area for lacrosse and softball teams to practice.

Vanderbilt Vice Chancellor David Williams told The Tennessean on Monday he has not been contacted by LSU for an interview with Commodores baseball Coach Tim Corbin. Corbin was immediately considered a candidate for the LSU job after Tigers Coach Raymond "Smoke" Laval resigned on Sunday.

Pat Murphy's contract at Arizona State expires on June 30, but his talks with first-year Athletic Director Lisa Love are encouraging enough that the 47-year-old doesn't intend to become involved in the job search at Louisiana State or anywhere else.
