Best place to catch UM alums: The National Football League. Duh!

Best place for celebrity watching: The Delano. This South Beach hotel is always packed with A-list celebs. Try not to trip over Lindsey Lohan if she has passed out in the bathroom.

Best place to hide out for a few hours:  Gameworks. It may sound childish, but you can waste a lot of time on mindless video gams and not even realize it at this Sunset Place hotspot.

Best place to find a hook-up at 2 a.m.: Mr. Moes. The club, located in Coconut Grove (better known as "The Grove"),  serves alcohol until 5 a.m. Enough said.

Best place to get a suntan: The Intramural Fields next to Hecht and Stanford dorm on campus. You can basically get a tan anywhere in Miami. But if you hate beaches, this is the spot. And if that doesn't work, there are plenty of spray tan places.

Best place to see UM athletes: Between the Memorial Building and the Learning Center classrooms. The football players congregate on the benches and the baseball team is nearby at the tables. If you want a high school flashback, try sitting on the benches and see how long it takes an athlete to pick you up and move you.  

Best place to watch a football game: The Rat. If you can't make it to the Orange Bowl, this on-campus restaurant is the place to be. Students were packed in the two-story building for the memorable Virginia Tech game.

Best sports team nobody knows about: Women's track. This much overlooked squad is one of the best at UM. They are the current women's world champions and have won a ton of All-American awards.

Best place to make out: Rickenbacker Causeway, Virginia Key. Guys, tell her you want to show her the tides changing. That, and the moonlight, will set a perfect mood.

Best place to grab a burrito: Salsarita's in the UM food court. Fresh ingredients and great grub made to order. They replaced Taco Bell a few years ago and our stomachs thank them.

Best place to study: The law library. The med students are far and away the smartest folks on campus and this is where they go. Maybe just being there will help your grades by osmosis.

Best place to go after a victory: Sandbar in the Grove.  Ask any football player. They can usually be spotted there.

Best place to go to dinner with a big group: Opa (Taverna Opa). A Greek resturant on South Beach. They never mind large groups, no matter how loud. They'll even throw napkins at you and help you get up on the tables to dance.

Best place to get a good beer: Titanic Brewery. It's within walking distance from UM (next to the baseball stadium) and they make their own suds. Try the sampler to find the one you like.
