Wes Miller works his butt off, at least that's what his teammates and coaches say. The senior has proved all doubters wrong, going from "Who is that kid?" to the Tar Heels' starting guard in less than a year. The senior transfer from James Madison University put up 18 points, all from three-point land, in his first start last year, an  81-80 victory over Florida State last season.

After that, his name started to turn a few heads. Face it, the 5-foot-11-inch white kid may look average, but his game isn't. Miller recently spoke with SIOC about what he's listening to as he gets ready for his senior season:

• Smooth Criminal, Michael Jackson: "I'm not so sure about what MJ does in his spare time, but his music and performances back in the day were amazing. Smooth Criminal is one of my all time favorites."

• Brooklyn's Finest, Jay-Z featuring The Notorious B.I.G.: "'Reasonable Doubt' is one of the greatest rap albums of all time and you gotta love any track with Jay-Z and Biggie."

• C.R.E.A.M., Wu Tang Clan:  "Just one of the many great songs on 36 Chambers."

• Sexy Love, Neyo: "I always like to mix in a little R&B."

• Meat On Her Bones, Johnny Napp: "I gotta support my high school teammate who is about to blow up in the country music world. Check him out at www.johnnynapp.com."

• The What, The Notorious B.I.G. Featuring Method Man: "I always listen to a lot of Biggie."

• Heart of a Champion, Jay-Z: "'The Blueprint' is my favorite Jay-Z album and lately I've been listening to this the most."

• November Rain, Guns N' Roses: "I don't just listen to hip hop."

• Big Poppa, The Notorious B.I.G.: "More Biggie, of course."

• Freddie Freeloader, Miles Davis: "During my senior year in high school, one of my coaches gave me "Kind of Blue" and told me to listen to it before games to relax. I've been listening to it before games every year and Freddie Freeloader is my favorite track."
