As the draft prepares to kick off Wednesday night, here is what we know:

The Raptors are committed to taking Andrea Bargnani. The Bulls will go with either LaMarcus Aldridge or Tyrus Thomas, in spite of a pair of disappointing workouts. If the Bobcats stick with Adam Morrison at No. 3, then Rudy Gay could slide to the back of the lottery, unless a team trades up to catch him. Since the Celtics couldn't get Brandon Roy, they dealt their pick to Portland for Sebastian Telfair. Philadelphia could also swap its No. 13 pick with Seattle.

Ian Thomsen's Mock NBA Draft -- Round 1
Pick Team Pos. Player School/
Country
Class Ht. Wt.
1 F Andrea Bargnani Benetton Treviso (Italy) -- 6-10 240
Now that they've restocked their front line, will the Raptors trade Charlie Villanueva for backcourt help?
2 F LaMarcus Aldridge Texas So. 6-11 235
Bulls take this fluid center but may yet trade him.
3 F Adam Morrison Gonzaga Jr. 6-8 200
The best scorer in the draft fills a need and gives the Bobcats an instant star.
4 F Tyrus Thomas LSU Fr. 6-8 220
Blazers may take this athletic forward in order to deal him elsewhere.
5 F Shelden Williams Duke Sr. 6-9 260
He's a solid big man ready to contribute to a team that needs to show sudden improvement; could drop out of the lottery if Atlanta doesn't grab him.
6 G Brandon Roy Washington Sr. 6-6 210
Wolves' wish comes true ... unless Bobcats opt for Roy at No. 3, in which case Wolves end up with Randy Foye and Morrison falls to No. 7.
7 G Randy Foye Villanova Sr. 6-3 210
A reliable combo guard; though Celtics may trade pick to Portland for Sebastian Telfair, and the Blazers could use it to take Rudy Gay.
8 G Ronnie Brewer Arkansas Jr. 6-7 225
They are talking about a shooter, but they'll go with Brewer for the defensive potential that Jeff Van Gundy covets.
9 F Rudy Gay Connecticut Soph. 6-8 225
This year's slider gives the Warriors a Shawn Marion-type athlete at small forward.
10 G Rodney Carney Memphis Sr. 6-6 205
The Sonics will trade this pick; the guess here is that the 76ers will move up to take this wing scorer for the post-Iverson era.
11 G J.J. Redick Duke Sr. 6-5 190
The Magic would prefer Brewer here; NBA teams are more troubled by Redick's herniated disk than by his recent drunken-driving charge.
12 F/C Hilton Armstrong Connecticut Sr. 6-10 240
A dearth of big men enables him to go higher than expected.
13 F Cedric Simmons North Carolina State Jr. 6-10 225
If the Sonics trade back here, this athletic power forward would serve as a backup plan if they can't re-sign Chris Wilcox.
14 F/C Saer Sene Pepinster (Belgium) -- 7-0 235
A good, long-term investment in a dynamic athlete who will need years to develop in the post.
15 F Shawne Williams Memphis Fr. 6-9 230
A versatile wing who can play their uptempo style.
