NBA Power Rankings
Rank LW Team
18 From Speedy Claxton to speedy recovery: Chris Paul, expected to be out two weeks with a finger injury, returned after four days and had 13 points and five assists in Tuesday's loss to the Pistons.
30 Maybe all that roster shuffling is finally paying off for Larry Brown. They beat the Cavs and Mavs (in OT), respectively, to run their win streak to five straight and remain the NBA's only unbeaten team in 2006.
23 Relief for Rob Babcock and Sam Mitchell ... They beat the Bobcats on Wednesday to make it six of eight as they continue their slow climb to respectability. Since starting 1-15, they are 11-9.
21 They won at Atlanta on Tuesday to snap a three-game losing streak. But until they find a way to start winning consistently, the Paul Pierce trade cloud is going to continue to hover over them.
25 Hurry back, T-Mac! With six players (including Tracy McGrady) out with injuries, they dropped consecutive games to the Bobcats and Kings to make it four straight losses overall.
24 Steve Francis is suspended (again), Grant Hill is ailing (again), and they're losing (again). Wednesday's loss at Seattle was their fifth in six games overall -- and sixth straight on the road.
27 Rick Adelman's job appears safe for now as they continue to try to battle through injuries. Speaking of which, Peja Stojakovic (bulging disk) is their latest starter to be injured.
25 Like the Rockets and Kings, they too have been plagued by injuries of late. They were minus six regulars (Emeka Okafor, Kareem Rush, Brevin Knight, Sean May, Melvin Ely and Jake Voskuhl) in Wednesday's loss at Toronto.
28 They ended Kobe's 45-point streak in Wednesday's victory over the Lakers, snapping their own six-game losing skid in the process. With their next six games at the Rose Garden, they can only hope the win over L.A. was a springboard.
29 Back-to-back poor performances in losses to the Celtics and Wizards have them back in the doldrums. With a seven-game homestand starting Saturday vs. the Wizards, they need to shake it off.
