Get out your red pencils, NBA fans. The NBA's 2006-07 schedule was released Tuesday, and it features more than a few compelling matchups to mark on your calendars. Here is our early list of the top 10 games (in chronological order) you won't want to miss:
Oct. 31: Bulls at Heat
On Halloween night, it will be treats for the Heat as they get their championship rings. Then Shaq & Co. take on Ben Wallace and the new-look Bulls in a rematch of last year's first-round playoff series won by Miami in six games.
Nov. 1: Knicks at Grizzlies
What better way to kick off the season than with the first installment of the NBA's longest-running soap opera? GM Isiah Thomas replaces Larry Brown on the bench, but will he have any more luck coaxing wins out of this collection?
Nov. 1: Clippers at Suns
A rematch of last year's Western Conference semifinals, claimed by the Suns in seven games. It's also the first chance for Phoenix fans to greet Tim Thomas, a playoff hero for the Suns who left for the Clippers as a free agent after the season.
Nov. 2: Spurs at Mavs
The first meeting of the season between these Texas rivals, who staged an epic seven-game playoff series last year. The Spurs, who lost Game 7 in overtime at home, no doubt will be out to show the Mavs that they intend to reclaim their status as the best in the West.
Dec. 22: Sixers at Celtics
Allen Iverson will almost certainly be in Beantown for this one, but which team's uniform will he be wearing? Even if he doesn't get traded to the Celtics, it will be interesting to see what reaction the Answer gets from Boston fans.
