1. Victoria's Secret is entering the market for sports bras. In a related story, interest in the Women's World Cup is suddenly skyrocketing.

2. Barbaro cruised to a convincing victory in Saturday's Kentucky Derby. The Derby is a strange event: It's three hours of meaningless buildup followed by two minutes of frantic action. So basically, it's an NBA playoff game.

3. A 25-year-old Air Force serviceman caught Barry Bonds' 713th homer on Sunday night in Philadelphia but was rebuffed when he asked the slugger to sign it. In fact, Bonds told him to kiss his asterisk.

4. There's an interesting addendum to the story of Bonds' 713th home run ball. Though Bonds would not sign the ball for Carlos Oliveras, the fan who caught it, the Giants outfielder did pose for a picture. Then the kicker: Oliveras had to give his John Hancock on a waiver for Bonds' reality show. That's rich. Millionaire slugger refuses to sign, but his minions demand signature of regular Joe for a reality show designed to burnish the misanthrope's image. Is even Bonds so p.r.-deaf that he won't sign this ball now? Presumably we'll all have to wait for the next episode of Bonds on Bonds to learn the answer.

5. The baseball union is complaining that the steroids investigation being conducted by former Senator George Mitchell is already going too far. Indeed, it probably was a tad excessive when Jack Bauer tortured several Devil Rays.

6. Mighty Ducks netminder Ilya Bryzgalov recorded his third straight playoff shutout on Sunday. It's believed to be a new record for goalies nobody's ever heard of.

7. Judging by the zingers in Friday's all-reader-submission edition, the 10 Spot readership base is a talented one. That's why I feel duty-bound to mention a writing contest that, believe it or not, can bring even greater publicity than publication in the 10 Spot. Crown Royal has announced that it will name next spring's NASCAR race at Richmond after the consumer with the best 50-word essay submission on his or her favorite "Crown-worthy" moment. The company is defining a "Crown-worthy" moment as an occasion deemed fitting for a toast with a Crown Royal cocktail enjoyed in a "responsible" manner. Essays can be submitted at crownroyal.com/ynh400 or video submissions can be entered at selected retail stores and NASCAR racetracks. Crown Royal will choose 10 finalists from which the grand prize winner will be randomly selected during next February's Daytona 500. Until then, the race's working title will be "Crown Royal presents the Your Name Here 400."

8. The Dodgers have decided not to hold an Indy Racing League event in the Dodger Stadium parking lot. The team fears the inevitable carnage when SoCal fans get in their cars to leave early.

9. Lakers star Kobe Bryant had only three field-goal attempts in the second half of Saturday's blowout loss to the Suns in Game 7. Kobe decided to save the shots for his teammates in the postgame press conference.

10. You're a good egg, Charlie Brown: Do you have sure hands? Do you believe that eggs were made for tossing in the air rather than being scrambled into oblivion? Then the NatWest World Egg-Throwing Championships might be for you. The event will be held on Sunday, June 25, in Swaton, England, under the auspices of the World Egg-Throwing Federation (WETF). If you miss it, the yolk's on you. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)
