The San Diego Padres have added Chicago White Sox outfielder Rob Mackowiak for the stretch run.

Mackowiak, 31, is batting .278 with six home runs and 36 RBIs while filling in for the injured Scott Podsednik for much of the season. He's a career .264 hitter in seven big league seasons.
