Happy New Year! Welcome to the fist Fantasy Lab of 2007 where we set you up nice for the upcoming week by breaking down the schedule. A couple more big name superstars ran into serious injury trouble so let's go straight to the injury report.

PG Chris Paul, New Orleans -- Severely sprained ankle, out approximately four weeks

SG Jason Richardson, Golden State -- Broken hand, out 6-8 weeks

PG/SG Dwyane Wade, Miami -- Wrist sprain, day-to-day, questionable for Wednesday

SG/SF/PF Gerald Wallace, Charlotte -- Separated shoulder, out at least 1 game, doubtful for the rest of the week

PG Chauncey Billups, Detroit -- Calf injury, out 7-10 days or more

PG/SG Kirk Hinrich, Chicago -- Groin strain, day-to-day

C Francisco Elson, San Antonio -- Shoulder injury, out until late January

C Yao Ming -- Broken leg, out 8 weeks

F/C Chris Bosh, Toronto -- Left knee bone bruise, questionable for Jan 3

SG Rashard Lewis, Seattle -- Finger surgery, out eight weeks

G/F Josh Smith, Atlanta -- Hernia surgery, out two to four weeks

G/F Paul Pierce, Boston -- Stress reaction in foot, out this week

C Marcus Camby, Denver -- Broken finger, likely out for the week with a broken finger

SF Carmelo Anthony, Denver -- Suspension, out until Jan. 20

SG J.R. Smith, Denver -- Suspension, out until Jan. 8

PF Lamar Odom, LA Lakers -- Knee sprain, out until late-January or February

PG/SG Monta Ellis, Golden State -- Shoulder injury, out indefinitely

PF David West, New Orleans -- Arm surgery, out indefinitely

G/F Peja Stojakovic, New Orleans -- Back surgery, out indefinitely

PG Brevin Knight, Charlotte -- Sports hernia surgery, out 1-2 months

F/C Troy Murphy, Golden State -- Achilles injury, played limited minutes on Saturday

PG Sam Cassell, LA Clippers -- Plantar fasciitis/heel injury, out this week

SG Larry Hughes, Cleveland -- Ankle sprain, still isn't 100 percent and has requested fewer minutes

Here is the team game count for Week 10:

Four games: BOS, CLE, DAL, GSW, LAC, MIN, PHO, POR, SA, SEA

Three games: CHA, CHI, DEN, HOU, LAL, MEM, MIA, NOK, NYK, ORL, PHI, SAC, TOR, UTA, WAS

Two games: ATL, DET, IND, MIL, NJN

Of the teams with four games, Portland easily has the best schedule with home games against Boston and New York, followed by contests with Sacto and Miami. The Blazers are the only team in the NBA this week to face three defenses ranked in the bottom 10 of points allowed per game, and their fourth game is against a middle third defense to boot. San Antonio's schedule is the hardest with three games against top 10 defenses. The T-Wolves and Celtics also face two top 10 defenses without facing any weak defenses.

Sacramento, New York, Toronto and Washington all face two teams in the bottom 10 defenses without facing a top team defense this week. These are the strongest three-game plays.

If you can avoid it, don't play anyone from any of the teams with two games. Everyone except Atlanta faces a top ten D and four teams -- Charlotte, New Jersey, Indiana and Detroit -- face two top ten Ds in their pair of games. The only possible starters should be Jermaine O'Neal, Jason Kidd, Vince Carter and Rip Hamilton.

Memphis, New Orleans, Orlando, Sacramento and Toronto all play their games at home this week. Look for the return of Chris Bosh in the T-Dot and for the Grizzlies to convert to an up-tempo style under new head coach Tony Barone. As for the road warriors this week, there is Detroit, Indiana, New York, Philadelphia and the Clippers. Look for a slight depression in these player's stats as a result.

Now that we've got the scheduling part nailed down, it's time for the weekly Lineup Fixer Sixer. The Lab carefully considers recent trends, scheduling advantages, injuries, stats and much more to find you six players with four games who will make a serious difference for your squad in Week 9.

Before we get to the world's best Christmas list, let's grade last week's selections of: F/C Nene, Denver ; PG Earl Boykins, Denver; SF/PF Gerald Green, Boston; PG/SG Tony Allen, Boston; SF/PF Tim Thomas, LA Clippers; and SG Eddie House, New Jersey. Well Nene had one big game and then followed it with a couple of DNPs due to a sore knee. We had the caveat with House about PT, but he still underperformed. Sorry guys, I blew those two. Boykins has been an A+ with his huge scoring totals. Green started strong and faded in the last game with a lack of PT; we'll call him an average pickup. Allen and Thomas both have had strong all-around play. Overall four of the six were average or above, and in the case of Boykins, outstanding.

For this week's Lineup Fixer Sixer, here are six guys who can help you plug some holes this week and possibly even breakout in a big way a la Lil Earl's most recent week.

PG/SG Randy Foye, Minnesota -- Foye is coming on strong for Minny now that he's familiar with the offense and the team is comfortable with him taking the big shots down the stretch. As the year goes on, he's going to see more minutes and could end up starting soon.

SF/PF Donyell Marshall, Cleveland -- Last week against Milwaukee, Marshall went off for 7 3PM and 29 points with 10 boards, 3 steals and a block. He's going to be very inconsistent, but with games against Milwaukee, Jersey and Boston, he should have plenty of room to get his shot off and rebound against their smaller front lines.

PF/C Matt Bonner, San Antonio -- With Francisco Elson out, the Spurs started Big Shot Bob at center the other night. He won't score many points or do much but provide intangibles so you should instead focus on Bonner. On Sunday, Bonner had 8 points, 11 boards, 3 assists and 1 steal and block each. He missed two three-point attempts, but since he shoots them with the full confidence of his coach, he's going to help you out there to -- a rarity from the C spot.

PG Jannero Pargo, New Orleans -- With both Chris Paul and Bobby Jackson out for at least the next week with injuries, it's Pargo's show in New Orleans and Oklahoma City. The youngster has played well recently and should only grow more comfortable as he leads the first team in practice. In four games as a starter, Pargo is averaging 37 mpg, 13.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg and 5.3 apg. While he's struggled with his shot mightily, it will come around soon and savvy players will already own him then.

SF/PF Travis Outlaw, Portland -- Again, this Outlaw is a wanted man for teams struggling with blocks. Not only does Portland have the League's best schedule this week, but Outlaw has been playing very well in December. If he can carry his 1.8 blocks per game average into the New Year, he can make up some ground or win some weeks with that production from the SF spot. He's also an eight-category contributor capable of a big night once or twice a week.

We'll see you back next week for a Week 11 preview. Happy New Year and resolve to incorporate Fantasy Ball Above All into your life.
