Last week, USC received some bad news when No. 4 junior Brandon Jennings, a point guard at Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.), decommitted from the Trojans.
Jennings, however, is still considering USC, as well as UConn and Arizona.
Either way, coach Tim Floyd responded, getting three commitments from the Class of 2008 over the weekend.
Leading the way is 6-foot-6 shooting guard Demar DeRozan of Compton (Compton, Calif.), the nation's No. 32 junior who averaged 22.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.2 steals per game this year. He was a Los Angeles Times All-Star.
DeRozan is the best player of the trio to commit to the Trojans, but the most well-known one is probably Percy Miller, better known as rapper Romeo. The 6-foot Miller, the son of rap mogul Master P, averaged 13.9 points and 5.6 assists at Beverly Hills (Beverly Hills, Calif.).
Rounding out the commits is Angelo Johnson, a 5-foot-11 guard from Stoneridge Prep (Simi Valley, Calif.).
