Horizon (Scottsdale, Ariz.) (31-3) The Huskies capped a terrific season by defeating archrival and then-No. 4 Brophy Prep, 9-6, in the Class 5A Division I state final. The victory served as sweet revenge for Horizon, which was routed by Brophy, 11-1, in last year's final. This time, the Huskies used a potent offensive attack and the right arm of senior Tim Alderson to upend the Broncos for their second state title in three years and fourth overall. Alderson (12-0) allowed 13 hits but went the distance, striking out 13 with just one walk. Meanwhile, junior outfielder Joey Bristyan was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. |

Sarasota (Fla.) (29-3) The Sailors won their eighth state title overall with a 1-0 victory over DeLand in the Class 6A state final. Sarasota junior right-hander Casey Kelly tossed a complete game two-hitter with five strikeouts and junior first baseman Ryan Stahl hit the game-winning RBI single in the fifth. |

West Lauderdale (Collinsville, Miss.) (38-2) The Knights defeated Terry, 7-3, to sweep the Class 4A state championship series. It was West Lauderdale's first state title since 2001 and first in Class 4A, but it was the program's 11th overall. Senior right-hander Paxton Pace went the distance, striking out nine while allowing just four hits. The Mississippi State recruit helped his own cause with an RBI triple and an RBI single. |

Owasso (Okla.) (35-3) The Rams edged Edmond Memorial, 1-0, in the Class 6A state championship. It was Owasso's sixth state title since 1998 and ninth overall. Senior shortstop Peter Kozma's solo homer in the first led to the game's only run, while senior left-hander Matt Hoffman (8-1) struck out six and let up just three hits to earn the complete game win. Owasso won its last 23 games of the season. |

Long Beach (Calif.) Wilson (30-3) The Bruins blanked El Modena, 2-0, in the CIF Southern Section quarterfinals. Senior left-hander Elliot Glynn fanned four to pick up his eighth victory of the season. Wilson will play Canyon (Anaheim, Calif.) in the final on Friday. |

Bishop Moore (Orlando, Fla.) (31-1) The Hornets defeated Pine Forest, 12-10, in the Class 4A state finals to earn their first state championship in 40 years. Senior infielder Drew Dades tallied three RBIs, while senior left-hander Alex Mendez's solo shot in the first led to a six-run inning for the Hornets. Bishop Moore beat Belen Jesuit, 15-4, in the semifinals behind senior left-hander Andy Horton (15-0), who went the distance for the win, and Dades, who drove in four. |

Calvert Hall (Baltimore) (33-0) The Cardinals put the cap on a perfect season with a 4-0 win over St. Joseph in the finals of the A Conference tournament last week. It was the third consecutive A Conference championship for Calvert Hall, and 15th in the past 32 years. Junior right-hander Michael Dillon earned the win thanks to a three-hit, five-strikeout complete game. After debuting at No. 23 in the RISE National Top 25 on April 23, the Cardinals moved into the top 10 in less than a month and will finish no worse than No. 9. |

Madison (Vienna, Va.) (21-2) The Warhawks moved into the Class AAA Northern Region semifinals thanks to a pair of victories last week. In a 10-0 win over Washington & Lee, seniors Jason Farley and Sterling Sams and junior Ted Williams combined for the shutout while allowing just two hits. In a 5-0 win over Lake Braddock, junior Jesse Jeter went all seven innings to earn the victory. The Warhawks will face Oakton tomorrow for a berth in the regional title game. |

South Caldwell (Hudson, N.C.) (29-3) The Spartans took two of three from North Davidson in the Class 4A West tournament, capped off by a 3-2 victory in the final game. Senior left-hander Madison Bumgarner pitched a three-hitter with 15 strikeouts. South Caldwell will face Wilmington Ashley in the finals starting June 1. |

Klein Collins (Spring, Texas) (34-5) The Tigers have been in and out of the RISE National Top 25 all season, but they are making a late-season push to reach the top 10. Klein Collins has won six straight games and swept consecutive playoff series to move into this weekend's Region II-5A championship against Georgetown. |
