Seton Hall Prep (West Orange, N.J.) (30-1) The Pirates edged Don Bosco Prep, 9-8, in the NJSIAA North Jersey Non-Public Group A semifinals. With the score tied 8-8 in the bottom of the seventh, Seton Hall Prep's Nick Natale scored the game-winning run after Mike Martinez drew a bases-loaded walk. Rick Porcello (9-0) gave up six earned runs and 12 hits but still managed to pick up his ninth win of the season. The Pirates will play Immaculata in the finals on Tuesday. |

Horizon (Scottsdale, Ariz.) (31-3) The Huskies capped a terrific season by defeating archrival and then-No. 4 Brophy Prep, 9-6, in the Class 5A Division I state final. |

Long Beach (Calif.) Wilson (32-3) The Bruins defeated Anaheim Canyon, 5-1, in the CIF Southern Section Division I championship to earn their first section title since 1950. Senior left-hander and UConn recruit Elliot Glynn tossed a complete game three-hitter with four strikeouts to lead Wilson. Senior shortstop Ryan Dent went 1-for-1 with three walks, two runs scored, a double and an RBI, senior catcher Tyler Albright drove in two and junior outfielder Aaron Hicks went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Glynn helped his own cause by going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. |

Chatsworth (Calif.) (30-4) The Chancellors earned their seventh Los Angeles City Section title by defeating Cleveland, 2-1. Senior right-hander Trent Jones (15-0) pitched a complete game six-hitter with seven strikeouts to help Chatsworth tie the record for most City Section titles with Fremont and Kennedy. Senior shortstop Mike Moustakas scored what proved to be the game-winning run in the third inning on a balk. |

Bishop Moore (Orlando, Fla.) (31-1) The Hornets defeated Pine Forest, 12-10, in the Class 4A state finals to earn their first state championship in 40 years. |

Calvert Hall (Baltimore) (33-0) The Cardinals capped a perfect season with a 4-0 win over St. Joseph in the finals of the A Conference tournament. |

South Caldwell (Hudson, N.C.) (31-3) The Spartans won the Class 4A state title by sweeping Wilmington Ashley in a best-of-three series. South Caldwell clinched the crown with a 10-0, five-inning victory. Senior left-hander Madison Bumgarner helped send the Spartans to the run-rule win with a two-run, inside-the-park homer in the fifth. Bumgarner finished the year with 11 homers and his career with 35 wins on the mound. Junior right-hander Jimmy Messer picked up the win against Wilmington Ashley with 11 strikeouts to finish the season 15-0. |

Klein Collins (Spring, Texas) (36-5) The Tigers have won eight consecutive playoff games, outscoring opponents 65-11. In the Region II-5A championship series against Georgetown last weekend, Klein Collins won both games via shutout. In the first game, a 4-0 victory, senior Austin Dicharry threw a four-hitter, and senior Ty Stuckey went the distance in a 3-0 victory in Game 2. The Tigers will take on Greater Houston counterpart Cy-Fair on Thursday with a berth in the Class 5A state title game on the line. |

East Rutherford (Bostic, N.C.) (31-2) After storming through the first five rounds of the playoffs, the Cavs found themselves in an unfamiliar position after losing the first game of the Class 2A state championship series to North Lenoir. But with his team on the brink of elimination, senior Tyler Smith came up big in Game 2 of the series, pitching a complete-game, four-hitter to lead East Rutherford to a 3-1 victory. Junior Cullen Park pitched 6.1 innings in the deciding third game, allowing just two hits and striking out eight, to lead the Cavs to an 8-1 win. It was East Rutherford's fourth state championship in six years. |
