While high schools continue to garner national attention, the real battles take place within the states. Here's a look at the top expected contenders in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.:

Alaska South (Anchorage) Douglas (Juneau) is also a top team to watch.
Arizona Hamilton (Chandler) Brophy Prep and Chandler should challenge the Huskies.
Arkansas Texarkana Tailback Dennis Johnson has been offered by Arkansas.
California Poly (Long Beach) QB Morgan Fennell has a golden arm.
Colorado Columbine (Littleton) Can the Rebels win without tackle Ryan Miller?
Connecticut Greenwich Jonathan Meyers is strong at fullback and linebacker.
Delaware Salesianum The defending Division I champions should contend again.
Florida Northwestern (Miami) New coaching staff, but expectations remain the same.
Georgia Northside (Warner Robins) Northside and Roswell are the cream of the Peach State.
Hawaii Punahou (Honolulu) Learn the name Manti Te'o. The linebacker is just a junior.
