The QuestionsWith Simon Gagné, Flyers LWPosted: Tuesday February 6, 2007 12:43PM; Updated: Tuesday February 6, 2007 12:43PM
What was your welcome-to-the-NHL moment? My first preseason game in Washington [in 1999]. The first shift I was next to [6'3", 220-pound enforcer] Chris Simon. That big guy next to me. I remember that more than my first real NHL game. What was your most embarrassing moment? Dislocating my shoulder my second year. I got into a fight behind the net with [Tampa Bay's] Andrei Zyuzin. I tried to get him with some punches, and my shoulder went out. When I think about it now, that was pretty funny. If I were commissioner for a day I would ... have a private [meeting] with the referees about not being influenced by what teams are playing, who is on the ice, what general manager is watching, where the game is. If I weren't playing hockey, I'd ... My father was a policeman [in Quebec]. I grew up with that, [so] that's something I would maybe try to do. LAST WEEK Gagné, 26, the Flyers' lone All-Star, had a goal in a win over Atlanta to give him a team-high 38 points. THIS WEEK The Flyers are to host Detroit on Monday. Gagné had two goals in the teams' last meeting, a year ago.
