Louisville gets surprise commitment
For the second year in a row, the Louisville Cardinals have picked up a signee late in the recruiting process. This year, the surprise comes from three-star defensive end Patrick Grant, who chose the Cardinals over Iowa and South Florida at a press conference this morning at his school. Cardinalsports.com confirmed with Grant's friend Josh Bynes that his teammate had indeed picked Louisville.
Broyles signs with Oklahoma
Four-star cornerback Ryan Broyles will stay in Norman. Broyles switched his commitment between Oklahoma State and Oklahoma several times during the recruiting process but signed with the Sooners on Wednesday. Visit Soonerscoop.com for more from Oklahoma's Signing Day.
Little to sign with North Carolina
Four-star athlete Greg Little will sign with North Carolina, breaking off his commitment to Notre Dame. He plans to send his letter of intent soon.
"It will go out shortly," Little said. "We're waiting for all of our guys at school to get together to send them. I'm sending it to North Carolina, it's signed and ready."
Three-star defensive end heads to Pitt
Pittsburgh received word Wednesday that three-star defensive end Jabaal Sheard would sign with the Panthers. Sheard, from Hollywood Hills, Fla., is the fourth member of Pittsburgh's 2007 class from the Sunshine State. Visit Pantherlair.com for more from Pittsburgh's Signing Day.
Paige picks Tennessee over USC
Four-star wide receiver Ahmad Paige chose Tennessee over USC on Wednesday in a decision between the two schools that came down to the final day.
"Last night, I actually told coach (Tennessee assistant Trooper Taylor) that I was going to Southern Cal," Paige said. "But he talked me out of it. He stressed family and making sure they could see me play and that Tennessee was a great fit for me. Then, I talked to some other recruits -- some guys who weren't going to Southern Cal or Tennessee -- and that helped me see things. I just realized that Tennessee was the best place."

Signing Day switch for Florida receiver
Gronkowski sticks with Arizona
Four-star tight end Rob Gronkowski, one of the top recruits in Arizona's class, made his commitment official by signing with the Wildcats. ATH Easterling to sign with FSU
Florida State had another late addition to its signing class with a commitment Wednesday from three-star athlete Taiwan Easterling out of Hattiesburg, Miss.
Georgia grabs OL from Notre Dame

DB Conte switches to Cal
Four-star safety Chris Conte, who committed to UCLA on Jan. 20, changed his mind and will sign with Pac-10 rival Cal. Conte had committed to Cal in July before switching to UCLA on Jan. 20.

WR Jones switches from Clemson to FSU

Missouri gets JUCO defensive end
Defensive end Jason Townson, once one of the most sought-after defensive recruits in Missouri, signed with Missouri after two years at Visalia (Calif.) College of the Sequoias. Four-star WR Paige signs with Tennessee
Sterlington (La.) wide receiver Ahmad Paige said he had narrowed his college choices to Tennessee, Southern California and Florida after a trip to USC last weekend. Kentucky grabs three-star receiver
Kyrus Lanxter, a three-star wide receiver from Alcoa, Tenn., had committed to West Virginia in September, but a January visit to Kentucky apparently caused a change of heart. Lanxter -- who helped lead Alcoa to its third straight Class 2A state championship, earning MVP honors in the state title game after catching six passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns -- committed to Kentucky last night and is expected to sign this afternoon at his high school.
