One thing's certain; Falcons quarterback Michael Vick is not getting traded. He's not getting cut. He's not going anywhere. Barring injury, Vick is the Falcons' starting quarterback.

Chan Gailey is considered the Dolphins front-runner over Jim Mora, with Cam Cameron being the wild card, the source said. The Dolphins think Mora's personality is the best fit as a head coach, but officials can't get past a radio interview that Mora gave last month while he still was Falcons coach, the source said.

Many Bears' fans were in an uproar over Mike Ditka's comments that he doesn't have a rooting interest in the NFC championship game between the Bears and Saints. Ditka then took it to another level by taking a swipe at former Bears president Michael McCaskey, who fired Ditka after the 1992 season, during a radio interview. Ditka also blasted New Orleans owner Tom Benson, calling him "a stupid cheat."

After waiting for the past five days, Cowboys assistant coach David Lee's conversation with The Boss on Wednesday took on a different tone. "I don't know," coach Bill Parcells told Lee. "Coach, I need to go," Lee said. Shortly thereafter, Lee accepted a three-year contract to become the offensive coordinator at Arkansas.

Terrell Owens will undergo a second surgery in the next six to eight weeks to repair a torn tendon in his right ring finger, according to a source. This surgery will reattach Owens' torn tendon to his finger tip. Owens said last week that he would be ready for training camp, though his availability for a possible minicamp at the end of May could be in doubt.

The Ravens extended Brian Billick's contract yesterday, albeit in an unceremonious way. The Ravens made the announcement in a two-sentence e-mail, adding that no details would be "publicly announced or discussed. It is estimated that Billick will be paid in the range of the five highest-paid NFL coaches (likely more than $5 million a season).

Wednesday the Titans asked for permission to speak to Packers director of pro personnel Reggie McKenzie and Jaguars director of pro personnel Charles Bailey, according to sources familiar with the situation. Sources indicate the Titans are also interested in Dolphins GM Randy Mueller and two Seahawks executives  vice president/football administration Mike Reinfeldt and vice president/player personnel Ruston Webster.
