SEOUL (Reuters) -- Uruguay forward Carlos Bueno capitalized on a couple of moments of sloppy defending to score both goals in a 2-0 win over South Korea in a friendly on Saturday.

A defensive lapse set up Uruguay for their first goal midway through the first half, with forward Alvaro Recoba -- in his first game for the national side in 16 months -- passing the ball past the South Korean defence and goalkeeper to an unmarked Bueno who scored easily.

Sporting forward Bueno got his second 20 minutes later after he got on the end of a long pass and outran two defenders before shooting into the top right corner, out of goalkeeper Kim Young-dae's reach.

South Korea came out more aggressively in the second half but they failed to make anything of some good chances including a shot by Reading forward Seol Ki-hyeon that hit the post.

Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez said he was satisfied with the match.

"We had two well defined opportunities in the first half and we took advantage of them," he told a news conference.

South Korea coach Pim Verbeek said Uruguay had displayed more maturity and experience on the pitch.

"We have to learn from this game," he said. "We cannot make defensive mistakes at all and we have to be sharper in front of goal."
