Lagerwey will be named general manager of Salt Lake

Garth Lagerwey, a former MLS goalkeeper for the Kansas City Wizards, Miami Fusion and Dallas Burn, will be named the general manager of Real Salt Lake, SI.com has learned.

Lagerwey wrote several columns for SI.com during his playing days -- he was fondly known as the Jim Bouton of soccer -- and more recently he has been a television broadcaster for D.C. United games while working as an attorney for the law firm Latham & Watkins in Washington D.C.
