'Sports Illustrated in the house!'Posted: Monday February 19, 2007 12:23AM; Updated: Monday February 19, 2007 12:23AM LAS VEGAS -- I don't know how to DJ but Biz Markie is showing me a thing or two as I stand next to him in front of the ones and twos, above a sea of Playboy Bunnies and assorted beautiful people at Club Moon, located high atop The Palms. As Biz begins to spin some Musiq Soulchild, he tries to rub the sleep out of his eyes. It's not that it's too late. It's actually two in the afternoon and Playboy and Crown Royal are throwing a party on All-Star Saturday night. "I'm doing like eight parties a day," he says. "I'm spinning so many, I can't even keep track of them." While I contemplate a mix of my own, I wonder if spinning at a party where the sun is still shining through the oversized windows is different than DJing at a pitch-dark club. "Nah, you got to treat it like a lounge," says Biz. "Everyone's not going to want to dance so you got to make it fun and sexy." After I'm handed a Crown and Ginger from one of the sultry waitresses I tell Biz it might be a lounge but there's nothing wrong with hanging with Playboy Bunnies for an afternoon. "Man, it's crazy," he says. "I was just talking to the Maloofs and this is how they roll." - After getting a taste of the DJ booth from Biz, I make my way outside where celebrity barber Julian Payne is giving guests complimentary trims but I pass on having him sheer my curly locks and head upstairs where a handful of ladies are offering up massages. Seeing as covering the party scene in Vegas is a difficult and stressful job, I sit down for a relaxing rubdown before heading back downstairs as Biz gets on the mic and says, "Sports Illustrated in the house!" When I made it down I ran into my main man Kat Williams, who's been making the Playboy Bunnies laugh as he sits at a reserved table near the DJ booth. "Vegas is a crazy city," he says. "It enhances anything it gets three times over. It can make it three times as good or three times as bad if you know what I'm saying." At the moment it's all good as Williams talks to Miss January 2002 Nicole Narrian. "I beat Michael Jordan during a poker tournament last night and that was a dream come true," he says. "But in terms of hunting prospects you can't beat this." - Following the afternoon bash and getting a quick tour of the new Playboy Club, I headed to Thomas & Mack Center for All-Star Saturday Night. You all probably saw what happened but the highlight of my night, just beating out "The Gerald Green Show," was getting to chat with Kobe Bryant after the Skills Competition along with Summer Sanders. The topic of the conversation? His advice to Britney Spears and her new hairdo. "You have to make sure you go with the grain, don't go against the grain when you're shaving your head," he says. "You have to smooth it down and grease it up so its nice and shiny, you can't have something that's really bland, it has to have a pop to it." - After All-Star Saturday Night I headed to PURE nightclub where I joined Tony Parker and Eva Longoria in their VIP booth where they were throwing a party. Now you know the old saying what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas? Well, unfortunately I can't let you in on all the details of my crazy night with the NBA's hottest couple, but needless to say it was a memorable night and you just might be reading about it sometime soon in the pages of SI. - Feeling the need for some exercise (and not wanting to wait two hours in line for cab), I walked from Caesar's to the Palms where Dwyane Wade and T-Mobile were throwing a huge party in a tent just outside the casino for the launch of the D-Wade Sidekick 3. The party was probably the best of All-Star Weekend as Ciara, Will.i.am, Kelis, Ludacris and Nas performed while DJ AM was spinning for most of the night. Some of the celebrities and players at the bash included: Ron Artest, Kelvin Martin, Kevin Connolly, Jeremy Piven, Mekhi Phifer, Jamie Kennedy, Blu Cantrell, Danny Masterson, Dwight Freeny, Penny Marshall, Jonathan Silverman, Kim Kardashian, Ed Lover, Regina King and Roy Williams. Before the party was over I asked Williams where the party ranked since we had crossed paths at many of the parties this weekend and he shook he head and said, "If this one isn't the best, it's pretty close."
