Are you watching this season of American Idol? Everyone seems to be wondering how Sanjaya is still around. Can you offer any explanation? Also, would you ever go on a reality show like the Real World or Big Brother? It could be a good career move.
-- Brandon, Plano, Texas

Sanjaya's performance during last week's Diana Ross-themed episode had me desperately searching for cotton balls to keep my ears from bleeding. I could give him the benefit of the doubt and say it was just a bad song choice for him, but, who are we kidding? I would gladly take your everyday high school musical over some of the crap my ears were subjected to last Tuesday. In fact, maybe that is the reason Sanjaya is still around. A lot of people have preconceived notions of what an American Idol should look like, and thus, a lot of voting reflects that same high school popularity mentality. It's about having the right haircut, the right outfit, whatever will help sell albums. What I find truly ironic is when the castoffs, such as Jennifer Hudson or Chris Daughtry (two of my personal favorites from previous seasons) end up having the greater success stories than those that take the title. In the end, true talent prevails, because while America may vote for a person based on popularity, they certainly don't want to waste their money buying their CD's when they don't even make the charts. And as for reality television, I have my own motto -- Just Say No.

Jenn, how are your brackets treating you? Who do you have in the Final Four? Would you agree that the Tournament is the best event in sports?
-- Chris W., Memphis, Tenn.

The tourney has definitely helped me pass the time I have spent in bed this past week recovering from my bronchitis. My brackets are doing fairly well, with the exception of Duke losing their first round. I know the Blue Devils aren't the team of old, but I didn't expect them to go down quite that early. As for my Final Four, I am going with Florida, North Carolina, Kansas and Ohio State.

Who do you think will win the World Series this year? Also, have you ever visited Wrigley Field home of the Cubbies? Jenn, you need to visit you'll love the party scene.
-- Bobo, Chicago

You could argue that it's anyone's game before the season starts, but why would you want to. During spring training, anyone who knows anything about baseball thinks that they know that this year is the year their boys are going all the way. Given the fact that no team repeated since the beginning of the 21st century, I'd say this year will be no different. I'm taking the New York Mets. You could say that as far as New York baseball goes, the Yankees are far superior, but then you'd be discounting all of the things the Mets have going in their favor. The Yanks are always a force to be reckoned with, but the Mets all but put to bed a championship last season, which will make them even hungrier this time around. So the good people of the Bronx may have to wait another year before their team takes the title, because this year all the celebrating will be in Queens. I've never been to Wrigley Field, but it's definitely on my "to-do" list. I'd especially like to be there during hometown rivalry weekend. Word has it when the Cubs and Sox get together, things are interesting.
