13 Allen Iverson had 44 points and 15 assists in Saturday's smackdown of the Suns, the Nuggets' fourth straight win. But can they keep it going as they head out now on a five-game Eastern road trip?
11 They won't have Caron Butler (bruised knee) for their five-game Western road trip that begins Tuesday at Portland. They're hoping Andre Blatche (6.6 points, 6.2 rebounds as starter) can step up in his absence.
15 Saturday's win at Seattle made it six of seven as they continue their surge toward a first playoff berth since '94. But next up this week are toughies at Utah (Tues.), home vs. the Wizards (Fri.) and at the Lakers (Sun.)
19 Kobe Bryant has decided to take matters into his own hands again. He had 65 and 50 points in victories over the Blazers and T'wolves, respectively, to become the first player since Iverson in '04 to go for 50 or more in consecutive games.
14 Seven losses in eight games dealt a serious blow to their playoff hopes. But they downed the Celtics on Monday to begin a stretch in which they play nine of their next 12 at home, so they can't be counted out yet.
18 Richard Jefferson is starting to get comfortable again, and it has helped bolster the Nets' team defense. Not coincidentally, they had won three of four to stay within striking distance of the Raptors for the Atlantic lead.
16 They lost at New Jersey on Sunday to fall to 1-3 on their five-game Eastern road trip and take another hit to their fading playoff hopes. With a 6-14 record since Feb. 2, is there any reason to think they can turn it around?
17 Channing Frye and Renaldo Balkman have stepped up of late to help make up for the absences of the injured Jamal Crawford, David Lee and Quentin Richardson. But they need to string some wins together soon.
23 Talk about inconsistent. Last week they lost at Charlotte, beat the Jazz, lost at home to the Kings, then won at Miami. Maybe that's why coach Brian Hill is feeling the heat.
24 Larry Krystkowiak won his first two games after taking over for the fired Terry Stotts, including one over the Spurs. It's almost as impressive as how Krystokowiak parlayed a possible offer from the University of Utah into an NBA coaching job.
